Graduation

The Jiu Jitsu Graduation is a very important step on a fighter path to master any specific Martial Art. Differently from other Martial arts Brazilian Jiu Jitsu graduations does not follow a standart protocoll of examination where anyone capable of of reproducing some thechniques will be entilted to the next level. In here the level of a figher is rated according to severala different factors including but not limited to:

Frequence on class

Ability of controlling bigger or higher ranked belts

Respect within the academy with colleagues and coach

Performance in tournaments

Responsible behaviour

Overall understanding of the game

Knowledge

Commitment

Focus

Age

Trustability

Therefore it relies on the head coach to define and conduct a graduation whenever he thinks an individual is ready to step up to the next level. There is no specific time for the changing belts but it is more or less common agreement, considering someone training from Monday to Friday it takes about 2 years on each belt.

However, althought a simple showing of techniques is not enough to move up to the next level, we indeed have a a graduation ceremony where the athletes changing belts will present some techniques and answer some questions.
